THE WALL

the-wall

She gave a lot of excuses

So many reason why…

Reasons why she couldn’t try

She would sometimes cry

Make a scene

And go back to her life of sin

Cheating herself

And nobody else

She thought she was smart

And she would tell them this and that

She told them about the wall

The wall that was responsible for her fall

She would exaggerate about its height

“Oh! What a sight!” she would cry

“It’s so tall!”

But she was only fooling herself

There was really no wall

Her fears and imagination had teamed up

They created a wall

They built it

She supported it

And to her, it existed

What a prey…on her they feasted!

She was her own worst enemy

Building nonexistent walls all around her

Walls that would deter her…

…Walls that were stopping her from being who she should have been

A figment of her imagination

What an evil creation!

A wall seen

Seen only by her!

What a waste of talent!

What a waste of a beautiful destiny!

Why!!!

Tear down the walls, pretty one!

Recreate a new path!

Forge on!

Don’t hold back your greatness!

Be the you you were created to be!

The you you were called to be!

Not the you decorated with fear!

You are great!

Created perfectly by God!

Be the you He created you to be!

Not the you the world wants you to be!

YOU WILL BE FINE

you-will-be-fine_small

I mean you no harm
I just want to soothe the pain like a balm
And cause you to be calm
Here, take my hand
Let’s sit here and listen to the band
Let’s watch them play our favorite song
Oh…it’s been soooo long!
They play music so good
It feeds my soul like food
Here we are at night
Listening to good Christmas tunes under the moonlight
I know how sad you are
You gaze at me but you seem so far
Don’t let a broken heart cause you to forget…
…to forget the sweet melody of life
Cast away the knife
Don’t bruise your heart some more
Let the tears pour
But don’t let them pour forever
Don’t let them win…never!
Look…you are worth more that diamonds
I can write this on the wall with crayons

“You are beautiful!
You are loved!
You are strong!
You are blessed!
You will be fine!
This too shall pass!”

So, cheer up
Chin up
Don’t give up
You will be fine
Just give it time

In the meantime…
…let’s sway to this beautiful Christmas melody
Oh! Such sweet sweet melody!
You will be fine, my darling!
You will be fine!

YOURSELF

yourself small

To advice yourself

All by yourself

Because you love yourself

And you are yourself

And you care about yourself

Because you yourself…

…oh, yes you yourself

Sometimes know what’s best for yourself

Without hurting yourself

Or condemning yourself

But speaking the truth to yourself

And creating a better picture for yourself

After a nice date with God and yourself

So you sit under the mango tree all by yourself

And think for yourself

At the end of the day, the crowd will reduce…you’ll see for yourself

So, that’s why you must do right for yourself

Don’t fool yourself!

Please give some constructive advice to yourself

And create a better version of yourself

For the sake of others and most importantly, YOURSELF

-Signed by Yourself for Yourself

BE THE CURE

BE THE CURE.jpg

In a world filled with so much sorrow

Be the pen that writes a happy tale

Be the eyes that sees the good in people

Be the nose that appreciates the pleasant smell of blooming flowers

Be the mouth that speaks kind words

Be the lips that spreads the Good News

Be the hands that give to the needy

Be the stomach that hungers but gets satisfied

Be the heart that holds no grudge

Be the legs that lead right

Be the feet that taps to good music

Be the builder and not the destroyer

Be the encourager and not the bully

Be the best version of you

Sow the best seeds you have

Reap a good harvest and be grateful

Give thanks whenever you can

Too many people are dying from depression

Be the cure

And not the cause

Don’t Let

Don’t Let

Even when it all seems established and fruitful

Don’t let pride creep in

Even if you are swimming in a pool of emeralds and pearls

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when you are sliding through life with all your trophies

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when you’ve defeated giants and claimed territories

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when your table is filled with food

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when your cellar is well-stocked with the finest of wines

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when you visit kings and queens

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when you sit down to dine with the wise

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when they try to flatter you with sweet words of admiration

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when you hear the crowd chant your name

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when they salute and serve you

Don’t let pride creep in

Even when all your prayers seem to be answered

Don’t let pride creep in

Remain humble and thankful!

Even when the morning goes and the evening comes

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when all doors seem to be closed

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when they laugh at your perseverance and faith

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when they turn you down and walk away

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when the rain begins to pour

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when the ones closest to you betray you

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when the tears threaten to pour

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when your wallet looks old and empty

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when your stomach growls and your tongue is dry

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when they make silly faces and laugh at your dreams

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when you’ve been rejected and scorned

Don’t let doubt creep in

Even when tomorrow seems too far

Don’t let doubt creep in

Always believe, never lose faith!

YOU SEE ME IN A WAY I DON’T SEE ME

YOU SEE ME IN A WAY I DON’T SEE ME.fw.png

You see me in a way I don’t see me

How do you do that?

I don’t even see me that way

The things you say…

…they sound good

They put me in a good mood

How do you do that?

You speak kind words

You make me feel good

You make me look good

You tell me nice things

You make me believe I have wings

Wings to fly

To fly high

You make me want to try

Try to be a better version of me

Why?

Why do you see me this way?

You amaze me!

Thank you!

I’m grateful!

I’m thankful!

Thank you for seeing me in a way I don’t see me!

Thank you for believing in me!

Thank you for encouraging me!

Thank you for accepting me!

Thank you for being you!

VULTURES

VULTURES.fw

He saw the vultures flying

Around him

And over him

They watch

Gazed

Mocked

One…two…three

Vultures here

Vultures there

The vultures watched

They tried to tie him down with silly rituals

The kings and priests of tradition

He talked about his dreams

His vision

His goals

They laughed at him

They poked his head

They wished he him dead

An object of ridicule

Underrated and scorned

He asked for help

No one reached out

A pout here

A shove there

He was hurt

But not discouraged

For he knew who he was

But no one saw it

Sack on his back

He started his journey

Ignoring comfort

Seeking his first brick

The brick for his building

The empire he saw in his dreams

He spread the word

He sort for help

No one reached out

Like the echo of a gong

His words were loud and clear

He was determined

He struck hard

But found no gold

This was beginning to get old

Pained and sad

He fell to his knees

A little prayer

A moment of praise

He got back on his feet

He struck again

But no gold insight

It seemed like it was all in vain

The rains came

He took cover

The sun shined

He resumed his labor

Another strike

The ground was soft

So soft and moist

Easy to dig

He dug deeper

Digging without mercy

The darkness crept in

He felt sad and disappointed

And then he saw it

It was beautiful

It was there

Step one was done

Time flew by…

…His empire in sight

His future so bright

Trade here

Trade there

A merchant he became

The coins abundant

Clothes of silk

Houses and estates

Bricks upon bricks

His empire fully established

The vultures reappeared

The news was everywhere

The old him disappeared

The new man shining so bright

They watched

They whispered

Their faces covered in shame

He no longer cared

Their presence hurt him not

A dream of years ago

Now an empire on the rock
